Shame on Humanity

The story of Kitty Genovese.

38 people saw the murder and didn't call the police. It didn't just happened yesterday, but still, how messed up are we?

13th March, 1964.
New York.

Raped. Tortured. Killed. Right there. Just outside her apartment building. 30-something people heard her scream and saw her agony; saw evil. Nobody did anything. Some even watch. Do you understand what I just typed down? SOME WERE EVEN THERE TO WATCH!

13th March 2009, next week, would be the 45th year of Kitty Genovese death. May all criminals, rapers, murderers and all you sons of the devil out there rot in hell and feel the same pain as Ms. Genovese did. That, but times infinity. Because human should be forgiven. Rabid dogs should be killed. And to all the people who saw but didn't do anything, may you deserve the same fate.

I'm not just talking about the death of Kitty Genovese, but some other as well.

Look at the world today.

Wars are raging. But are people doing anything about it? No. Children are kidnapped and turned into soldiers, slaves and even prostitutes. Wives beaten to death by husbands. Minors have their rights taken away from them. Kids grow up without knowing who their parents really are. Mutilations. Tortures. Murders. People with powers doing nothing.

If a cat is seen like all cats. Then I guess, in the face of God, a human is seen as all of humanity. If that is so (and I hope not), then I am ashamed of being human.

Shame on you.
And shame on us.

Fight!

For the first time in my life, I am not afraid of pain.May it be physical or mentally. Come what may. I've had already been roughed up a few times before -- may it be physical or mental -- but now, for the first time ever in my life, I AM NOT AFRAID OF PAIN.

For the first time of my life, I like myself. I like the way I look. I like how I feel. I like the choices I made. I've learned to let go. And for the first time in my life, I don't give a fuck!

I'd love it if you would hit me as hard as you can...

"...where has she been for the past FIVE years?"

FIVE days ago, Rubina Ali, a child star from the movie Slumdog Millionaire, was walking down the Oscars red carpet when the movie was nominated for several categories including Best Picture (and won). She stayed in a five-star hotel with her fellow friends, the actors and actresses from the movie. They even went to Disneyland together. "Uncle Danny" (Boyle, the director) was kind enough to bring them there.

But on Thursday, the 9-year-old star returned to her (for the lack of a better word) fucked-up life in the slums of Mumbai, India.

She was photographed smiling and waving and blowing kisses to the camera (a skill she learned while she was in Hollywood). Hundreds of "well-wishers" greeted her (and the other child actors from the movie) when she came back.

Fortunately, director Danny Boyle had planned to move them from the dirt-filled slum into an apartment worth RM110, 000.

However, her homecoming wasn't all good news when a battle of custody arised. Her mother (who left her five years ago) came back and tried to take her away from her dad (who took care of her all the time her mother was away). He accused her of trying to get her daughter's wealth. Rubina's mother denied the accusation.

But Rubina herself asked, "If she is my mother, then where has she been for the past five years?"

When Slumdog Millionaire won Best Picture (and 7 other categories), it just goes to show that you DON'T have to be a star to be a star. But once you get back to reality, if you're fucked up, you'll remained fucked up.

"CLEAR!"

That's the word a doctor would say when he/she is reviving a person.

*long bleep*

Doc: Defibrillator!

*long bleep*

Doc: Charge. Clear!

*long bleep*

Doc: Again...Charge. Clear!

*bleep bleep bleep*

And that's pretty much what's happening to my blog.
My *bleep* blog.

I just can't seem to find the *bleep* defibrillator.

One Long Wait.

This is it.
The day of the inauguration of the president-elect Barack Obama.

I'm waiting. It'll be on in about less than 4 hours.

I just had some pizzas and green tea. I hopped around the house, dance a bit and sat silently in front of the TV as numerous celebrity give their speeches and performance in front of the Lincoln Memorial. This is the one day I wish I was born an American. Because I want to feel what they are feeling. The feeling of renewal. A feeling that's a thousand times stronger than what I'm feeling right now.

I've prayed and decided to post a new post on my slightly dead blog.

Change is coming.
And I am waiting.

History was made....Again!

5th of November, Barack Obama became the President of the USA. History was made. Yep, we've heard of that...

But today, history was made again during the first ever annual YouTube LIVE!!
It has revolutionized the way the internet is used.

And the best part was -- I was there...

Well, not really but I was a part of it. You see, the whole show was streamed LIVE all over the world and I caught it. I woke up real early, around 10:00am just to see it.

It's like the only concert where I watch while eating breakfast. I mean, like, whaaaaat???!!

Anyway, the show rocked, with a lot of performances by popular artists and celebs (Mythbusters...really?) and YouTube's famous people (a.k.a. those 11-million-hits-on-one-video video uploader). But my fave part has got to be the opening: Katy Perry performing "Hot 'N Cold" live. She's so cute!

Hope to catch it again next year.
Revolution!
